from my garden: joy

have been making me smile

from my garden: joy

In addition to sharing my reflections, I would also love to share things that make me smile and my heart feel full! 🥰 This is a way for me to remember and appreciate the things that make life worth living. For now, I will call these types of posts ‘from my garden’ because it’s about the small ways I am nourishing and tending to myself.

Hope you enjoy!

current playlist 🎵
smells like the fall

vibes are kinda like me: reflective, a lil angry, a lot of love, mix of hip hop/r&b/soul/alternative

I also wanted to add this song to the playlist, but it’s not on apple or spotify 😭 But you can listen to it/download it here, and here’s the yt link:

some encourage-mint

I am a big appreciator of yumi sakugawa. Their work and reflections often resonate deeply and inspire me to continue being curious about myself and my creativity.

Her recent post about joy is SO timely and good. Some of my favorite lines from the post:

My little well-tended garden of joy keeps me grounded, resilient, and connected.
Joy keeps me open to deeper connections, and creates a deep knowing, on a somatic level, why we can still sing, share meals, laugh, love, and dream as our ancestors did during times of unbearable suffering with no end in sight.

Q’s Corner

Q*bert has been doing well, enjoying the new-ish couch that he loves to perch on! He was not super happy about the Oogie Boogie halloween costume I got him, but he wore it for 30 seconds :)

We’re brainstorming what to do for our annual holiday card, so if you have suggestions, let us know! 😉

🌼 This week, may you notice small joys 🌸

life, poems, music, and the connections that ground me :)
